Important Notes for New Owners

1. Factory Testing: Lamy dip-tests every nib with blue ink at the factory to ensure quality before shipping. You may find traces of blue residue; this is a sign of a tested, functional nib. If you plan to use a light-colored ink initially, we recommend flushing the pen with water first to ensure color purity.

2. Protective Ring: All new Lamy pens come with a brown cardboard spacer (protection ring) on the barrel to prevent the cartridge from piercing during transit. Please remove this ring before first use to allow the pen to close completely and begin writing.
