Germany MONTBLANC Meisterstück 149 18K Gold Fountain Pen — Artisan Kun-yang Urushi: “Phoenix Brocade” (綴鳳錦)

This work features a Montblanc black precious resin barrel as the creative base.

The core concept of this piece is "Silk as the pen, gold thread as the ink." The vermilion base lacquer resembles the fine-woven Kesi silk used by the imperial court, offering a warm texture and steady hue. The sprinkled gold lacquer is not merely an accent; it symbolizes the artisan using fingertips as needles and light as thread to trace the delicate veins of phoenix feathers upon crimson velvet. The varying density of the gold specks mimics the dynamic luster of brocade as light flows across it. Writing with this pen feels like gliding through precious silk—every stroke is a fusion of exquisite craftsmanship and the soul of the written word.

Condition & Craftsmanship:

  • Status: Not brand new. This is a re-crafted urushi piece; all other components function normally.

  • Cap Band: After the lacquer was applied, only one gold ring remains visible; the rest is covered in urushi.

  • Fit: Due to the added thickness of the lacquer, the cap fits more snugly against the barrel and turns with more resistance.

  • Rarity: A rare and unique 149 urushi modification paired with a classic Montblanc nib.

Specifications:

  • Nib: 18K Gold, EF (Extra Fine)

  • Accessories: Tylee Pen Shop box

  • Price: 29,000

Please note:

  • Due to the added thickness of the lacquer, the cap fits more tightly and turns with more resistance.

  • Only the fountain pen is for sale; all other items are photographic props.

  • As this is a hand-lacquered pen made with natural materials, there will be slight variations in color and pattern. Individual textures or lacquer lines are normal characteristics of the artisanal process.
