The Platinum brand, known for establishing factories in Taiwan, is a household name. The current president is Mr. Toshiya Nakata.

Platinum has explored a diverse range of materials in their manufacturing process. Pioneering products include the WG (White Gold) material nib introduced in 1967 and pen designs featuring leather-wrapped barrels.

In 1978, the company unveiled the 3776 line, named after the elevation of Mount Fuji, which became their flagship pen model, spawning various iterations.

Additionally, pens with celluloid barrels are also a signature product of the company.
