The FA nib (Falcon Nib) is a specialty nib developed by Pilot to emulate the expressive qualities of traditional Eastern brush calligraphy. Known for its flexibility, resilience, and line variation, the FA nib is especially popular among enthusiasts of cursive writing, artistic script, and Japanese kanji.

FA Nib Features:

• Highly flexible, rich line variation: The nib is tapered on both sides, allowing dynamic transitions from fine to broad strokes depending on writing pressure, much like a brush pen.

• Ideal for writing in Japanese and Chinese: Perfect for strokes like “tome,” “hane,” and “harai,” it conveys rhythm and energy, adding life to each character.

• Requires pressure control skill: Not recommended for complete beginners. Writers with basic experience will better manage the nib’s angle and pressure, avoiding railroading or scratchiness.
